Oh my goodness... I got to photograph some of my all time favorite kiddos the other day and it breaks my heart that they are getting so big! Sisters, Shawn and Jessie, have brought their babes to us since Ben was like 2. The kiddos Ben, Kayleigh, and Lucas were SOOO good for the shoot! Ben was handing out my candy bribes, Kayleigh was Miss Sassy and baby Lucas was the best, doing whatever we asked him to do! #luckyparents  I told them what a mess picture day in the Mercer household turns into, no matter how much I plan! I wish my kids had half as much patience and smiles as their kids did! Even though I know that's not the way it works when you are the photographer and mom! #icanwish  Anyway here are some of my faves of the kids individual shots! ENJOY those smiles!

Oh my goodness...Susie has grown up!! We first shot Susie with her family years and years ago, and have had a couple different shoots throughout the years but now it was time for her SENIOR shoot, which I was so excited for because her shoots are always so much fun! She always had great ideas and wore the cutest outfits! Plus it helps that she is so good in front of the camera! So I knew that this senior shoot wouldn't be any different!  We spent hours shooting, on a super windy day, and I just wanted to share some of her gorgeous teasers!! Love this gal!

We love, love, love this time of year! It's getting warmer, the trees are starting to bloom and we are getting sooooo busy. I'm talking like, I may not see my family until mid to late June busy! The weekends are filling all up!  So I wanted to show everyone some of my favorite images from everything I have been doing lately, and make a big announcement for the month of May for our past clients!! Da...da. da!!

We were so excited to be chosen as the studio for the Harpers Ferry Basketball team photos this year! What a fun and great week we had meeting all the parents and coaches and letting us host you in our studio!! aubrey-29

This girl was the happiest and most pleasant little girl! Adorable! lilly-16 lilly-105 lilly-111I had the best time shooting with my niece, Lilly and her friend for her sweet 16th birthday!  These girls had me cracking up with all their fierce-ness!! LOL!

I don't know if my old age is getting to me, or maybe that everything changes when you have kids of your own,  but I am having a really hard time believing (probably not quite as hard of a time as his momma 🙂 )  that Will is a senior.  Ahhhh! I mean how many years have I been married? Like 8 years?  And from the time little Will was the ring bearer in my wedding till now seems like it has gone by in a flash! Literally, I blinked and Will has turned into this 6'3 man.  Will has always been one of my favorite guys, from 8 year old Will showing me all his animals in his room to 18 year old Will showing me all his animals at the barn (and teaching me a thing or 2 about the chickens, lol.) He has always been the most personable, handsome, kind, intelligent, and outstanding kid I know.  (Way to go mom and dad, you should be so proud!!) He just excels in everything he tries, and makes it fun for everyone around him. (Even if it is a game of Mao, where I am ready to quit because I have no idea what the heck is going on... Yes, Will is probably the only one who can make me stay in the game. )  Also I have never met such a caring guy, whether he's playing with my Olivia, or helping me out on a night where I just really wanted something off the menu at Sheetz, or even helping a friend who just needed some ice cream (.... Erica) His devotion to people (and his animals) is so obvious and amazing... I mean seriously who can ask for more than that in your kid!

So Mr. Will Shultz ... I can't wait to see what you will do with this life. You are an amazing man and have one of the strongest characters I know.  The world is waiting on you!! (... and there go my tears.)  Enjoy!! shultz1 shultz2 shultz3 shultz4 shultz5 shultz6 shultz7

I was recently given the privilege of helping the Isenhart Family welcome their newest addition, and boy is he a cutie! Brace yourself ladies, he is sure to be a little heart breaker... or a handsome little hunter.  😉 BI2 BI5BW BI1

I am loving all these Tiptoe senior sessions this year, and Mikayla is one of my favorites! We took her brothers senior photos several years ago, and little did we know the adventure we were in for... Wesley volunteered for the Shepherdstown Fire Dept, so we knew we wanted that to be one of our backdrops, however while we were there shooting, they got a call, and we actually got to photograph the helicopter that ended up landing right in back of the station... It was such a one in a lifetime experience!

I knew that Mikayla's session needed to be just as memorable! We started off in town and got some amazing shots, but then we headed out to the ball field, Mikayla's second home (she is quite the talented softball player)... AND the sunset magic was upon us... Oh and so was Daisy the cow! Who was quite a hit...every car that was pulling out after practice stopped to greet her! "That isn't something we see everyday" is what we got a lot!  I even got messages later that evening asking if it was me at the ball field. LOL... they saw a girl with a camera, a senior and a cow, and OF COURSE they would assume it was me!  I love it! Daisy the cow has apparently been such a part of Mikayla's life for so many years, her parents say she is the friendliest cow ever, that frequently when Mikayla would get home from school as a kid Daisy would meet her at the end of the field and walk with her home, just like a puppy! Aww, if that isn't one of the cutest stories I have ever heard. Also just a little tidbit of information that I learned, Daisy was born a twin, and because of that she isn't able to have babies now (although they are still hoping for a miracle, because Daisy used to play mom to a pig, and would make an amazing momma.)

Hey y'all... Here is a preview of our Tiptoe school portraits for the fall sessions on Saturday August 29th and  Sunday September 13th!  I had one of my best-est friends come out so I could borrow her kiddos on what could have been the stickiest hottest days this summer, just so I could get our set ups all ready!!  Now, there are a couple more things I have bought to add to the set up but you get the idea on how cute it's going to be!! I am so excited to share this seniors images... Not only was it by far the coolest day of August that we could've asked for.... It was also overcast!! Amazing! It made it so easy to say sure let's go out to the ball field for some shots. I didn't have to worry with any harsh shadows!! Gahh!

Chase's family is so incredibly special to me, they have been with Tiptoe for years, through family portraits, newborns, school shoots, to his sisters senior shoot a couple of years ago, basically we can just name a type of shoot and I am sure someone in his family has been there for it, as well as the Tiptoe Teaches classes.   We have formed such a great bond on so much more than just a business level!  I mean my daughter is swimming at their house right now as I am writing this post! LOL. They are definitely some of my favorite people EVER!  Just another reason I am so in love with being a Tiptoe girl.  I am lucky enough to meet these amazing people and make them my friends outside of business! God surely blessed me!

Soooo... I personally have had several of my mom friends call me, right after they got their proofs back from the school, to say thank you for doing their kid's school photo this year.  Which was awesome because they really appreciate what we at Tiptoe do!! We are PHOTOGRAPHERS, we don't do backdrops where everyone will have the same photo year after year, we don't just make the kids stand there and snap a pic not caring what they looked like, we take time to see that real smile and make sure we capture it, in every student! We don't just want "persons" in our photos, we want "personality".  Whether you come to us for a 5 minute school session or an hour long regular photography session, we put our all into capturing YOU each and every time.

So all of this really got me thinking... I can't ever say that I "get" their displeasure because we have been lucky enough to be the photographers for several preschools in the area.  I have been there  to take my own child's school pictures since she started school! Woo hoo! However this year she started kindergarten (unfortunately Tiptoe cannot compete with the incentives of the company that our county uses for portraits) and I knew that I wouldn't be the one to take her portrait, which sort of birthed the idea of opening up Tiptoe School Portrait day for any kids who may not want that typical school portrait.  This school year we held a fall and spring session, and it went fabulously!! We had so, so many kids come out and take advantage of the Tiptoe school pricing which is comparable to the pricing you pay for the portraits offered through the school.  Tiptoe school portraits are really such a great idea. Let's be honest, these "school" photos are the ones you use most to chart their growth and see all their changes, and honestly these are the ones that you end up keeping FOREVER.  Heaven knows I still have all of mine downstairs!  So why not make them fabulous? Let these precious photos show off your child's personality and real smile!
